The interview covers the scientific character of the climate challenge, why it must now be understood as constituting a global emergency, and what that means for the actions we need to take.
Jordan Osmond explains the making of the documentary:
A Simpler Way: Crisis as Opportunity is a feature length documentary I made with Samuel Alexander of the Simplicity Institute. This is my first feature film and we made it on a budget of $11,260, all of it crowdfunded by generous supporters. Thanks to Jordan and Samuel for making the full interviews available.
Over the course of 2015 I lived in a community in Gippsland, Australia where nine people came together to take part in this documentary to explore and demonstrate a simpler way to live in response to global crises. Throughout the year we built tiny houses, planted veggie gardens, practiced simple living, and discovered the challenges of living in community. This film is the product of hours and hours of footage that I shot during that year-long experiment in simple living.
Like all of my films, we want this documentary to reach as many people as possible, which is why we’re releasing it online for free. If you would like to download a copy of the film in Full HD 1080p or SD 480p, you can do so here by entering an amount of your choice. In this way, those of you who can support our work enable us to keep making films available to everyone, without restricting viewing to those who can’t afford to pay.
